Google Chrome Web-store.

Hi all, as you might already know, i’m going to tell you a little bit about the Google chrome web-store. It’s is great for everything. I have installed on my computer, the twitter app. So you don’t need to be on the twitter website to see whats happening. And when someone tweets you, a little notification pops up at the bottom right of your screen. I have also got the Facebook counter, just for interest. This tells you how long you have been on Facebook for. The bad thing is, that is publishes it on your timeline, but you chnage the settings if you want to. I also have a Tumblr  app, where you can post things quickly in your browser. This does include pictures, quotes and you can also read the feed from the people you follow. There are other good things you can get to, for example you can get; Card games, Educational games, My next london Bus etc.

I hope you found this useful, but remember you have to download Google chrome first.

Until next time… Goodbye!

Steam-PC-Gaming Software.

Do you like playing games? Well then this is perfect for you! All you need to do is download steam onto your computer. You can do this by searching steam on a search engine. It allows you to buy, then download games online. You pay with your credit card, then you download the game onto your computer. Perfect, you don’t need to keep CD’s around. The games do include things like Modern warfare, Skyrim, Portal etc. But also there are other games like Killing Floor, that many people haven’t heard of. Once you have payed and downloaded the game, if it is a multiplayer game then it will let you play with other people online that are also using steam. Steam also like a social network itself. This is because you can add people, talk to them invite them to games. You can also see what games they have, if they are playing them now. It also tells you the last time a person was online and also how many hours they have spent in each game. You can even buy games as a gift for people you know for a birthday, then they get sent a code with a little message from you, then they can download them. You can can also set profile pictures ETC. Another good thing is, you can use your account anywhere. You can even download the games anywhere to! As long as you are logged into your account. You cannot play the game’s offline and also if a steam game belongs to some one else on your computer, then you still cannot use it with a different steam account.

You can also get the app for steam as well. All you need to do is search steam on there. You might have to scroll down a bit before you get there. On the app it let’s you talk to your friends, see what games they are playing etc. But you cannot play the games on your Ipod.

All the software mentioned on this post is free. But the games are not. If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below and I will get back to you a soon as possible.

If you have any suggestions on what i could post, please e-mail me your ideas at alexmbutler@me.com

Money Tracker- For Android-Free!

Do you sometimes loose track of money, or want to use a different way of managing your money? Then this is the app you are looking for. It allows you to keep track of your money on/offline and also anywhere. It gives you many sub options, on where you are saving. This includes; Bank:Checking, Bank:MoneyMarket and also Bank:Savings. In the sub options, there are more options. These are; Deposit, Withdrawal, Transactions. Money allows you to input the amount of money that has been payed into your account. When you click on deposit, it says the date. Then you have to enter the amount and, if you want to, you can add a description on what it was. For example ‘Pay Day’. When clicking the withdrawals, you also get the date and below that you have to fill in the amount you are taking out and, if you want to, you can leave a description on why you have taken it out. When you click on transactions, it gives you a list of everything you have done. This includes an arrow pointing up, or down indicating if you have payed money in, or taken some away. It also tells you the date, the amount and also if you put a description it will also be there to. You can also make a schedule transaction. This is used if you know how much you are going to get payed, or you have a monthly subscription to a magazine. This works with depositing and also, withdrawing. There is an option on when the schedule transaction takes place. And these are; Daily, Weekly, Semi-Monthly and also Monthly. For daily, it gives you a sub option, where you can tell it the period of time something will be withdrawn/credited. For weekly, it gives you the option on what day it is. For semi-monthly it gives you the option of ‘First on the-’ and also ‘Then on the’. For monthly it gives you; ‘Every ___ months’ so you choose how many months gap it has, also it gives the option of what day of the month this transaction is completed. Also, on the main page it shows your total balance.

Thanks for reading, until the next time…Goodbye.

Nightstand- For iPod/iPhone/iPad

Nightstand is a very good standby app. It is another free app from the apple and does contain a couple of ads. The good thing with this app is that you can close the adds when entering the app, but after a while they do come back. When you first enter the app, you will see; The time, The location of where you are (If connected to the internet), the weather and also the temperature. And also a background. If you tap on the bell in the bottom left, it will take you to the alarm page, where you can manage all the alarms you have. When you set an alarm, you  can choose what the alarm is called, in my case wake up. You also choose; the time, sound, snooze, repeat  and also fade in sound. You can use your own music, but to do this you will have to upgrade to the full version. If you go back to the main screen and click I, to the right it will give you a more selection on offer like; Alarms (Witch is the same thing we have just talked about), Weather ( Where you set if you allow it to detect your location) And in the weather section, you have the options of; Unit (Weather it Is Fahrenheit or Celsius) and also the update interval (Every time it updates your weather information). Also there is a time section. But you don’t need to use this, as it uses your iPod’s set time. You also have an advanced section, where you can set an auto lock up to 4 hours and also set background alarms. You can also change the wallpaper to provided ones, or your own (If you purchase the upgrade) Other option are; 24 hour clock, Hide seconds, show next alarm, slide finger to change brightness, shake device for snooze. It also tells you what version of the app you have. It also provides link to; Follow him on twitter, share with friends, E-mail support, Other apps and also get iPad version.  And also made by Thomas Huntington.

Personally I use this app a lot and think it is rather handy. I would give this a 5/5 as it is simple to use, but also free. Thanks for reading, until the next time…Goodbye.

The Battery App

Unfortunately, this app doesn’t charge your iPod/iPhone magically from anywhere. But it is a very useful app and I would recommend getting it for yourself. It’s main feature is telling you the percentage of battery you have left, witch is pretty cool. Under the battery bar, it shows you what device you have. In my case, a 4th gen iPod. By the side of that, it tells you what firm ware you have. In my case 5.1, witch is good if you need/want to know what you have got. Under that, it tells you the standby time of the device. In my have 135 hours. Under that to the left and right, it tells you how long you can videos and also connect to the Internet. Then if you scroll down, it tells you time to charge, in my case 51 minuets, not 51 seconds. Below that, time you can play on 2D and also 3D games. Below that, time you can spend; reading like on the iBook store, on video chat, taking photos and also recording video. It is a very useful app and I would recommend it. This is a free app, but it does contain adverts. If you don’t like the adverts, you can purchase the upgrade version. All you need to do is search battery, on the apple app store. It is for most apple devices! I will give this a rating of 4 out of 5. As it does contain ads, but that is how they get their money so you can slightly understand.

This is my first post on this website, as I have just joint. My name is alex and I look forward to post more content on the site.

Instagram for Android Review

As everyone knows, a few days ago, on April 4th 2012, after months waiting, Instagram is finally available on the Android Market.

Since a year, Instagram was originally made for the iOS App Store and more specific, for the iPhone, and became a quick success.

The UI of the Android version is exactly the same with the iPhone’s. It has five tabs on the bottom: Home, Popular, the tab to take a photo, News and the My Profile tab.

In the “Home” tab you can browse through the photos that the people the user follow shares and the user can like or comment them. In the “Popular” tab the user can browse through the top rated photos of the day. The third tab of course is the one the user uses, to take a picture and share it with his followers. The “News” tab notifies the user when someone likes or comments his/her photo and when another user follows him/her. In the last tab which I call it the “My Profile” tab, the user can edit his account, search for other Instagram users and it has also the feature which lets the user to decide if his/her photos will be private or not. The same features, has the iPhone version.

When taking a photo the user has the option to edit his/her photos by adding cool effects, frames etc. The con with Instagram for Android is that misses one main feature, the one which lets the user blur out specific parts of the picture. That’s the only difference between the iPhone and the Android version.

From personal experience I tested Instagram for Android on a Samsung Galaxy S 2, and after using it for a day, I have to say it was a quite good experience. There was only minor lag when browsing through the pictures, but that was it. Also I must say that Instagram for Android, it is released since a day, so if there are any bugs with the app, there will be very soon major updates, that will fix them.

I would rate this app a 4.5/5. It loses one point due to not having the feature which lets the user to blur out a specific part of the photo.

And finally, Instagram is available on the Android Market for FREE!
